My Bush Camp is a rough diamond situated less than 20km from Bela Bela (Warmbaths). It’s a pick and chooses type of place, with something suited to every taste. At the bottom of the roughing-it scale is the MY Bush Campsite – comprising five sites that can accommodate four sun-dried campers.
The sites have no electricity, no water (closest shower is at the main camp ablutions), and are only accessible by 4×4. Definitely not one for the Sandton manicure crowd.
Up a notch or two, MY Campsite is a collection of about 20 sites on grass or gravel. Each accommodates up to four guests and one vehicle, and are your run-of-the-mill campsites with shared ablutions and a swimming pool. With MY Private Campsite, things are starting to look up.
In this case we have a more private campsite of five stands, each with own cemented area and braai.
Now back in the realm of home-from-home comfort, MY Farmhouse is a self-catering farmhouse that sleeps eight. The farmhouse has a private patio and braai area, and is fully equipped for self-catering – no need to pack the kitchen sink. Moving along, MY Chalet is a secluded little spot with a private Boma and braai area.
Tastefully decorated and with ample privacy, this is the go-to for a quiet weekend with better half. In addition to the above options, the friendly My Bush Camp has a spa, a quaint little shop that stocks basic supplies, as well as a menu of tasty side dishes to accompany your braai – potbrood, potato bakes etc. Great value-for-money, Bushveld vibe, friendly hosts. Try it.
